OOC: One of my favourite singer / songwriters died today. Dan Fogelberg died today of prostate cancer. He was only 56. I spent alot of time listening to his amazing music, learning to play it on the guitar and singing it. He will most definitely be missed.

I live for Life, of course. I live it for it’s own sake. I dedicated myself long ago to the pursuit of Power and I make no apology for it. My dedication to my People, the Fortunate Island, my husband….all of it. But if you really want to know what I do it all for, I do it for myself. When one is essentially immortal, you either get bored or you live your life like you mean it. I choose the latter rather than the former, although I cannot pretend that I have never been bored in my life.

Those who are the closest to me realize that when that happens, it is generally not a good thing. Although, there are those close to me who tend to make good use of those moments of boredom.

I have to confess that I do not understand how anyone can act as if they are going through the motions when there is so much to experience, to touch, feel or enjoy, What can replace heat of battle and how it feels to drive your blade into the heart of the enemy, the feel of a crown being lowered onto your brow and how much weightier it is than just the actual weight of the diadem itself.? Who would choose to go through life without knowing the touch of a lover for the first time, the feel of a warm summer wind blowing off the ocean through your hair, the experience of holding your newborn babe in your arms as they sleep?

All of these things I have lived for – and live for still.
