I’ve already answered this question or one like it, – repeatedly. Is there some perverse need to be redundant, or after this, might we at some time, move on?
Instead of spending time looking at the past to regret what was left done or undone, I find it is far more powerful a thing to look at those ‘mistakes’ and move on. What good does it do to regret or wish to do things over again? The purpose of looking back at all is a matter of educating oneself from personal experience, and there is no better teacher than that. Once learned, it becomes a given that you will be far less likely to fall into the same pitfall once again.
Everything I have ever done served a greater purpose in the end, whether or not I ‘failed’ miserably or not. Without the experience, no doubt I would be entirely unable to manoeuvre around similar obstacles today. Life is like a game of chess. You gain skill at the game only by playing it. Regretting a loss is not useful. You merely learn from it and become a better player next time. Would I change anything differently the second time around?
Most probably not.

Okay cool for you but why does this irritate you?
If others want to look back on their lives for whatever reason…Let them. Doesn’t affect you unless you let it.
This is a writing prompt for the writing group, of which I have been a member since 2004. The moderators of the group have asked us over 180 questions, 1 each week since its inception. Unfortunately, some of the moderators are new and therefore are asking the same questions over and over and over again. For example, the question for mother’s day corresponded to the one asked the previous year.
Cerainly, I don’t mean to be sour grapes, but when someone reframes a question and asks essentialyl the same thing ten times, it gets a bit old.
Hmm…It’d probably provoke satire from me but hey. I can understand the irritation, too. B-)

Oh, believe me! I have. The question, “Who would you most like to see get their comeuppance and what would you like to do to them?” There are others that I have sent in and I have my own blog prompts that I do on panhistoria.com each week.

Hi, I saw you on Women’s Health. We hae a lot in common. So I added you. Add me back if you’re interested.
Hello! Thanks. I have added you back. 🙂
I really liked this post. I’ve been having some trouble with ‘regret’ lately, so thanks for the reminder, and the uplift.
Thank you. I am very glad you liked it. I hope your regrets aren’t such that they are overwhelming. Sometimes they can be….in spite of protestations to the contrary.
