How do you handle disappointment?
I am never disappointed. Allow yourself to be disappointed, that means you have given up. If you give up you fail. There is no failure unless you give up completely.
Do that and you get exactly what you deserve.
Why settle for far less than you were aming for in the first place? If you are disappinted, then it means you alone made up your mind to be so. Such weakness is not to be admired under any circumstance. There is always more than one way to bring about a desired result. Unless you have tried them all, and I have yet to meet anyone who truly has done so regarding anything, then there is no reason why you should fail and therefore be disappointed.
One of my teachers when I was a very young Initiate once told me, something that I have ne’er forgotten. She said that there is one way, the truest way to be able to fortell or determine what the future holds. And that is to have a direct hand in making it for oneself. If you do that, then disappointment or satisfaction simply becomes a matter of what you allowed to happen.
I have always found that to be true, at least for myself.

Lead or Follow
Would you rather lead or follow? Why? What role do you see yourself playing out over your life, leader or follower?
I am a Wytch and am the only one responsible for myself, therefore I lead. I lead even when I might give the appearance of being a follower. Being a leader takes responsibility, and when you are leading yourself, if something goes wrong, i’faith, there is absolutely no one to blame but yourself. And with that comes the knowledge that you have no one to apologize to but yourself. Should anything go wrong, then anyone that chose to follow you, is also in themselves, responsible, because it was after all their choice.
It would take someone quite extraordinary and someone I could trust implicitly to cause me to relinquish control completely. So far, I should tell you, that has never been. I sincerely doubt there will ever be anyone whom I will trust more than I trust my Self.

The power of the Storm, as of late cannot be denied. I’faith, we have had more than our fair share of them and my schedule has been hectic enough to make it difficult to be on the computer at all to write.
To , Jareth, king_of_goblins, I will be working on the story and hopefully getting it up sometime this weekend. Real life stuff as they say, has hit for me. I have the anniversary for Green Angels Herbs & Healing Arts, an herb store that I am involved with, tomorrow. I am hoping that during some point I will get a chance to write. Then again, it may end up being very busy! I pray that you will forgive me for my delays. And I also pray that others whom I normally comment on their journals will understand, too. 🙂

The Place On the Edge of Forever
For the fictional challenge between fannyfae and king_of_goblins that begins HERE
The newly created world was exquisite and shimmering, lambent and mysterious. It was much like, Fanny Fae thought, the man who had created it. The half-Fae woman moved slowly beside her host, taking in each detail hungrily. If she glanced peripherally, she noted, she could actually see much more than if looking at an object directly. Jareth studied her concentration and appeared visibly amused by it. A wind, or was it a whisper, moved and rustled her hair around her face, her lips curled in a smile up at him.
“This place is built on shadows,” Jareth explained to her. “Shadows of my world, and of yours, and whatever worlds exist in between,” she moved past him to study a flower that evaporated into a shimmering miasma under her gaze, ” It’s nowhere near as concrete as the Labyrinth, ” Jareth continued, “for it lives on borrowed dreams. My magic built this place, and your magic will try to break it. That’s the basic fundamentals of this game, fair Fanny.”

What is the most important value you can pass on to your child?
I have no children -and really no plans to have any. I take that back. I did have a child once, but alas, he did not survive long past his birth.
But be that as it may, i’faith, I do believe that the greatest thing that you can pass along to a child is a strong sense of self and self reliance. When someone has those things, they have the ability within themselves to create their own magic. Their Will, their dynamic use of ego is in place and the world moves aside for such as these. Too many cower in fear of their own shadow, and are frightened by the sound of their own voice or the feel of how it is to wield their own power. If I were to pass one thing on to the next generation, it would be the knowledge that from central point of the Self – you can do absolutely anything you dare to dream.

Do you believe in an afterlife?
Most assuredly I do. Human beings can be so very arrogant. They think that by holding their breath or suspending their belief in a thing that they can merely will it out of existence. How many insist that Wytches do not exist, but in fact we do? We do just as do daemons and angels and the Fae and ghosts, and so very many realms which far too many have little or no understanding.
Do ye not know that the dead don’t merely cease to exist, but in fact are like friends and loved ones moving to a new place? Of course, they cannot take any of their belongings here with them, but that does not mean that they are no longer there, or cannot hear, or do not need conversation, maybe even a libation poured to them or a place set at the table for them, too. Whether on this side of the veil or the other, life does go on. The greatest tragedy is to deny that they are still among us. For all the grieving and pining and missing the touch of those who are counted among the dead, there is comfort in knowing that they are but a breath away, a whispered prayer, or greeting. If you go very quiet and listen, often you can hear them whisper back – or if you are even more sensitive, can almost perceive a touch. Some write such things off to imagination, but there is much more to it than that. And as I have said, humans can be most arrogant about the ways of realms that they have neither experienced nor grasped understanding of. Their belief or disbelief is notwithstanding.
Mayhap the spirits of our loved ones go on in the light of the stars, or perhaps go to the Summerland to rest and to then be reborn and re-enter the Circle of Life, but still life continues. Then again too, there are those who have passed over to the Land of the West, that lend a hand to the living. I have myself experienced such, on more than one occasion. I have had Eldermentors and Ancestors that have come to me at dire need and lent their aid or their knowledge. I suspect, that when I too pass to the Land of the West, I shall do the same for those who come after. It is all a part of that dance we call ‘Life’.
