book of shadows I’faith I have spent a goodly amount of time writing today, but I was able to make my way out into the gardens at last. So much to be done. The apple blossoms send down kisses upon my brow every time I come neare, it seems. I looke that it will be an abundant harvest indeed, and the honeybees are buzzing louder in the orchard than they do in the skeeps themselves. The tulips and the jonquils are pushing up round the limestone retaining wall at the rear of the cottage, while the turtle doves coo softly inquiring into my comings and goings.

Beltane was a delightful celebration, and both man and maid danced ’round the Maypole with red and white ribbons, symbolic of the Rites of spring, red for the blood of the female, white for the seed of the male, ‘secret and source’ of all life. The drums and the flutes beat well into the night, and during the entire time I was sought out by those who wished a blessing or spell for their unions, be they lovers or farmers. Ah, when one is the Village Wytch, even inside a place so small and remote as the Caribe, the Olde Ways die hard. It was not until later, after the sun had gone down and a mist came across the land that I received a knock upon the cottage door. I should have known with the coming of the mist, so would a visitor come as well. The broom had fallen earlier in the day of its own accord, which is an assurance that company is coming. I coulde say that I took time to scry about it in the black Wytch’s mirror that hangs opposite the fireplace to determine who it might be that woulde come, but I did not bother. Somehow that mist fortold all to well what I knewe.

Waking the Wytch

Many a year ago, during the trials of separation twixt Douglas and myself, I outwitted Barbossa’s tall black brute of a man, called nothing more than ‘BoSun’ in a fair fight. I will spare the details of that fight for another tyme, and only say that as a woman and a Wytch, I had humiliated him. What was e’en worse, was that Captain Hector Barbossa and nearly the entire crewe had witnessed the besting. The man, had always viewed me, I am sure, with a hatred deeper than most men wish ‘pon the head of e’en another man. I watched BoSun stand in the shadow of his captain, but rarely did his eyes leave me. T’was an olde grudge betwixt the two of us and I knewe that sooner rather than later it woulde come up again. By the Goddess! I’faith I should have knowne that it woulde be afore the evening was out!

Truth be told….

book of shadowsI’faith I heard through the grapevine that captainbarbossa had some choice words to say about my latest bit of storytelling. My apologies to you “Captain B(east)” . I confess, it was a completely coquettish way in which I was attempting to capture your attention. Truth be told, I do miss you. Now, if you were to assist that person who so graciously lends you the use of their comminication devices, they may be more inclined to let you out more often. I’ve heard the stories about your recent unruliness, and whilst I will sympathize with you, I cannot help but to reminde ye that manners are free, and pay off infinite dividends for both yourself – and to those of us who are longing to spend some quality time with ye.

And I am sorely missing, as the metaphor goes, all the creature comforts of your lap as of late. Yes, you are free to take that as ye will. 😉

The Kind of Accords that Lucifer Grants

Author Name: fannyfae
Title: The Kind of Accords that Lucifer Grants
Rating: R – maybe…
Pairings: Barbossa / Fanny Fae (OC) / Dawg Brown
Disclaimer: I do not own any character save Fanny Fae. Dawg (Douglas) Brown (Cuthroat Island), Morgan Adams and Captain Hector Barbossa belongs to others. I am just playing with them like I always play with my toys.
Summary: I and others have commandeered both “Cutthroat Island” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” and merged them for our own amusement. Fanny Fae and Douglas Francis O’Riely aka ‘Dawg Brown’ and his niece, Morgan Adams, have a run in with their old friend Captain Barbossa when planning to go on a swag expedition in the Japans against the Spanish and Portugese. The time period is before PotC, and before the curse. This is a setup for a larger tale that is still a work in progress. Note to self: Plot bunnies at Easter time are terrible things.
